Propinquity & Distance:
Self-portraiture in Contemporary Painting Practice
Group Exhibition 2004
Curator: Mary Pridmore. Carnegie Gallery, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia
Seven of the embodied pools and paintings from the exhibition, The Feeling of What Happens, were also exhibited in this exhibition curated by Mary Pridmore. The concept of the exhibition rested in the idea that ‘the very substance of paint becomes a pool of reflection, allowing the painter to drag out submerged issues about themselves and record them within the material’.
